It's the most. wonderful. time. of. the. yeeeeeaaaar!

5 more days until "S" day. Yes, that's right summer vacation!!!! Yes, I am excited about closing out this school year but not why most would think. I will miss my students dearly however, this is the first summer I get to spend with my 6 month old. I have so many plans for him, for us.

Currently, my 6th graders are working on their end of the year project (a math scrapbook). It is a project that I took and revised from last year when I taught in Virginia. I love this project because it allows the students to reflect, use their notes from the beginning of the school year and review for the up coming final. It also allows me to clean and organize my room for the final checkout.

If you would like to download the word document, here is the link: Scrapbook Project
I may be the most unorganized organized person anyone would ever meet. My ability to stay organized is a constant struggle that I am striving to overcome. Being a teacher doesn't help either. All Most us are naturally hoarders! (You can never have too much of anything, right?). The funny thing is, my messiness is a direct reflection of my decisiveness. Everything that is on my countertop or desk right now represents decisions that have not been made. I am a very careful decision maker. Its now time to start making decisions!

This summer, I am working on self improvement and hopefully my habits will spill over into my classroom. I came up with this cleaning schedule that I will use at home. I tried it last night and it went great. It felt so good to wake up to clean bathrooms, a load of laundry done and nothing in the sink. I think I'm on to something.
I have a two bedroom/2 bathroom apartment. I'm sure this schedule will change when we purchase our 5 bedroom 3 bathroom dream house that my wonderful husband will provide for me soon(crosses fingers). Until then, I will start small so that when we do move I will be ready to tackle that easily. What are some of your cleaning tips?

Cricut

So excited about my new "toy", the Cricut! This machine is every creative, right brained,  teacher's dream.

I purchased mine at JoAnn's craft store. Luckily that store is filled with pleasant employees who try to satisfy their customers' needs. I had to exchange the Cricut twice because it did not calibrate correctly so the touch screen was off about 1/2 of an inch to the left. They allowed me to switch them out with no hassle. Nonetheless, it was just frustrating to have to drive back and forth to the store. But how does that saying go? 3rd time is a charm...yea.

So, this is my new (3rd) Cricut and so far so good. I did my first project which is shown below. This was for my husband's co-worker who just graduated with a doctorate in clinical psychology. She loves to write so I purchased some vinyl and Viola! Her personalized journal.

There is so much to learn about this machine and I can't wait so start getting crafty!  This is only the beginning!

June Goals!

I finally learned how to participate in a linky party after several minutes of googling. Google is my friend! Today's linky party is hosted by iheartrecess . So here are my June Goals!

I still need to figure out how to actually make the picture look better but I think you get the point! This was fun!

HI!

Hello Everyone! I am a 6th grade math teacher in the Bay area. This August will be my third year teaching math and the 6th grade. I graduated from Hampton University and taught in Virginia for a year. So, I will be licensed in two states, hopefully. (getting licensed in California is a pain in the you know what) I love teaching and I am definitely called to teach the crazy middle schoolers. I hope you guys enjoy the blog :)
